Let's create a Red Borg character!

This week I'll continue my character creation series, continuing the series of Borg-like games characters made for a future project of mine. These will be alternating with other kinds of posts, like my solo campaigns recaps and some gameable content coming from my Duet Pirate Borg home game.

This time we're going with Red Borg, a Borg hack all about revolting against the capitalist fat cats. It's a bit bare bones, but very inspiring. I'll be using the Italian version of the game, which in this case is also the original one. Without further ado, let's get into it!

1. First of all, as usual, we roll for our CLASS. There are 7 in the game, ranging from the Anarchist to the Cosmonaut and the Suffragette, so I'll roll a d8: 2, Workaholic. This gives us higher starting HP and a range of possible starting weapons fitting a proletarian, as you'll see in a moment;

2. Next we roll for our ABILITIES:
-Strength: 11 => 0
-Agility: 11 => 0
-Presence: 5 => -2
-Toughness: 10 => 0
...not my best stat spread, but it could be worse, I guess.

3. Now we roll a couple of STARTING THINGS for our character:
-HP: 12+TOU (because of our class): 12;
-Fervor, d3: 2. This is this game's Omens, which can do the same things omens do plus one extra thing: one or more points can be spent (by one or more players pooling them) to Invoke the Revolution, rolling some dice (the more points spent, the more dice rolled) to make the people all around us rebel against the power, hopefully allowing the party to gain an advantage or escape a dangerous situation;

4. It's now time to determine our STARTING GEAR, with our class telling us which die to roll on the various equipment tables:
-Class weapon, d8: 4, Miner's pickaxe (2 handed, d8, +2 to hit)
-Weapon, d4: 2, Baton (d4)
-Tool, d8: 8, Wire cutters
-Survival: "None of your business"
-Luxury: "You can't afford it"

5. We're now at the ORIGIN table for our character, d20: 8, You hope you'll seat in the people's assembly once the revolution is over;

6. Lastly, we need a NAME for our character, but there are no tables to roll on, so I'll pick...Karov.

And here we are! Not too many things to roll on, but it is for sure a very peculiar title. The rulebook has multiple adventures inside, one set in space...and another very close to my hometown, funnily! So I'm looking forward to playing this character in the future.

This is all for this week, see you next Sunday for my next post!

May your dice never betray you,
Kirhon
