A new magic item: Rings of Bonding
Today's post is a bit of a special one, and you'll see why in a moment. This week I present you a magic item I came up with to celebrate my wedding, which happened on Thursday (24th of April 2025); if you already follow me on Bluesky or Threads, you might have already heard about it. I, being the terminally nerd that I am, decided to announce it on my blog with an idea for a magic item; this item does not have a specific system in mind, I left it vague enough that it should, hopefully, be usable in any OSR/NSR system as well as in D&D 5e. The Rings of Bonding These magical rings represent a bond between two creatures. As long as these rings are worn by creatures who trust and care for each other, both creatures are immune to all forms of charming effects; moreover, when one of them is below half HP* the other creature gains a +1 to his attack rolls and to their AC**.
