Caribbean Tales (solo Pirate Borg) - Episode 13
The following is part 13 of my solo Pirate Borg campaign. It focuses mainly around the character I created in this post, which was so interesting to me that it prompted me to set up a whole solo campaign. You can start with episode 1 here. Let's dive right in!

A few days later they reached Havana. Sam was feeling almost physically sick at the idea of being in the den of the people who killed Catherine, but he kept repeating himself not all the Spanish could be blamed for the action of one ship, otherwise he'd have to answer for all the crimes the Royal Navy committed, which...were quite a few. Still, he wasn't happy about it.
Once The Shriek was properly docked Captain Ramirez approached him. Sam, I want you with me and White while we go talk to Pedro. You need to change your clothes to do that, though.
Sam blinked a couple of times, confused. Why? The Armada and the Navy are allied now, so they might be more worried about a pirate than a British soldier.
-Just because the big wigs at the top are in a truce doesn't mean every soldier will be happy to see people they traded blows and cannonballs with until a week ago. Pirates are tolerated here because we spend a lot of money and bring our cargo to sell it to them, but you can bet your wig on the fact that their cannons are always ready to fire at anyone that crosses the line. As she said this she nodded towards the twin fortresses that guarded the bay's entrance. The best way to get out of here alive is to keep a low profile and give no one any reason to look at us twice, so get changed. Now.
-Isn't it better if I stay on the ship then?
-No, because I want to see how you fare in a diplomatic situation. I need to know what you're good at, beside fighting. Besides, who else would I bring otherwise? She gave a meaningful look around the ship; Sam couldn't find a reason to argue with that. Anyway, the Captain continued, that's an order, so don't make me repeat myself.
Something in her tone made Sam run to Brother Bilge, who provided him with a coat and a pair of trousers that seemed to have survived multiple shipwrecks. Perfect for blending in, he assured. Sam's nose disagreed with his choice, bt he quickly changed anyway before meeting the Captain and White and getting off the ship. Ramirez ordered him to carry the chest with the letters.
Havana was the biggest and most chaotic town Sam had ever seen, a bustling metropolis whose brightly colored houses fought to get his attention; keeping a low profile in the midst of that crowd would be easier than he thought. Still, a small part of his brain couldn't help but wonder whether Catherine's assassin was among the people he saw. Maybe even one of those her ghost passed through, he thought grimly.
He was so deep in thought he bumped into White when he stopped beside the Captain. They were in front of a building whose sign showed a donkey standing on his hind legs with a creepy smile. El Burro Loco, the tavern's name, was written right under it.
