Caribbean Tales (solo Pirate Borg) - Episode 7
The following is part 7 of my solo Pirate Borg campaign. It focuses mainly around the character I created in this post, which was so interesting to me that it prompted me to set up a whole solo campaign. You can start with episode 1 here. Let's dive right in!

-Not yet a man covered in tattoos replied without stopping.
-Did any of the skeletons turn to ASH? asked the woman with the eye patch, raising her head to look out of the hole.
-I didn't tell you to stop digging said the Captain with a sigh. We'll take a look around, and if we find any you can have a dose when you find the treasure.
-Thank you Captain! She resumed her digging with renewed vigor, humming a song to give herself and the others the rhythm.
Now that he was looking at her more carefully, Sam could notice the signs, sunken eye sockets and darkened lips. That woman was addicted to ASH, the powdered remains of the undead. Sam had seen many people having the time of their life with it, but even more permanently ruined by it, so he had sworn to himself to never get close to that thing.
...although if Catherine's ghost was going to stick around he could see himself breaking that oath.
A scream from the pit, coming from that same woman, brought him back to reality.
-There's something here!
Five minutes later the whole crew was gathered around an ornate metal chest; the Captain was in front of it, ready to open it. Everyone was holding their breath (except for Ophelia, the ASH-obsessed woman, whose wish had been granted and who was staring right in front of her, most likely not seeing anything in this moment).
The Captain proceeded to open the chest, releasing a cloud of dust Sam almost confused for ASH for a moment; once the dust settled everyone could see...letters.
A mountain of letters.
Each of them probably had different expectations for the treasure, but Sam doubted anyone expected letters.
Bilge was the first to speak. M-maybe the treasure is under the paper? What do you think, Sam?
The Captain dug into the pile with her hands for a moment. No, there's nothing else in here. Sam had just met her, but even he could feel the barely contained rage in her voice.
-Do you think, asked the tattooed man who had just finished digging, looking at Bilge, maybe we found a different treasure?
-No, said the Captain, the map was clear. White, and she turned towards the skinny man with the white robe, why don't you use your powers for us?
The young man was almost shaking. W-what would you like to inquire, Captain?
Ask your friend up there whether this is the whole treasure of Captain Morel.
White nodded, closed his eyes and started muttering something; he was so focused in his prayers he stopped shaking. After a few moments he opened his eyes again. It is, Captain.
