Let's create a Pirate Borg chicken!
This week I'll continue my character creation series, continuing the series of Borg-like games characters made for a future project of mine. These will be alternating with other kinds of posts, like my solo campaigns recaps and some gameable content coming from my Duet Pirate Borg home game.
This time we're going with a new Pirate Borg character (since the first one I created, Samuel Robert Thomas, is already busy in his own adventure), but to give it a twist it'll be a character from one of the optional classes, Tall Tale!
These can range from a Merfolk (with a fish-like lower half), an Aquatic Mutant ("an abominable union between man and the sea") or a Sentient Animal (which is self-explanatory). Without further ado, let's begin!
1. Let's start with finding our CLASS, d6: 6, Sentient Animal, so we have another roll to determine which animal we are, d6: 1, Foul Fowl: a demonic chicken with the ability of one random relic and one random ritual, and that says: "When you are killed, the ghosts of a hundred chickens swarm your assailant, ripping their spiritual soul from their flesh"...basically a chicken from the Zelda series. I love it;
2. Since we are a chicken we don't have any equipment (our weapon is a Beak Peck for d2 damage), so let's move to our STATS, with our class' modifiers:
- Strength: 13 => +1-2 = -1;
- Agility: 10 => 0-2 = -2;
- Presence: 14 => +1-2 = -1;
- Toughness: 6 => -2-2 = -3 (because no stat can go lower than -3);
- Spirit: 13 => +1+3 = +4;
3. Our HP is d4 + Toughness: 4-3 = 1 (the only possible result, with out modifier), while our starting DEVIL'S LUCK, d4: 2;
4. Next we'll find out our chicken's ABILITIES:
- Relic, d20: 14, Crown of the Sunken Lord (gives us -d2 protection for d2+SPI rounds);
- Ritual, d20: 5, Eldritch Tentacles (up to d6 creature of our choice take d6 damage each);
5. I know I've said no equipment, but I'll make one exception to roll a HAT for this chicken, d12: 5, Wig. Absolutely perfect;
6. Now we need a NAME for our character, and I'm not aware of any chicken names table (if you have one please let me know!), so I'll just pick it: Rosita.
7. Lastly, we need a REASON TO ADVENTURE. I'll use the Unfortunate Incidents and Conditions table, and hope the result works for a chicken, d20: 6, You escaped captivity, and will NEVER go back. I couldn't ask for a better one, it's perfect! Thank you dice gods!
And here we are! I can't wait for this character's turn to come up, the shenanigans will be crazy!
This is all for this week, see you next Sunday for my next post!
