Caribbean Tales (solo Pirate Borg) - Episode 10
The following is part 10 of my solo Pirate Borg campaign. It focuses mainly around the character I created in this post, which was so interesting to me that it prompted me to set up a whole solo campaign. You can start with episode 1 here. Let's dive right in!

White closed his eyes and muttered what sounded like a prayer before replying May she rest in peace. Did you have a chance to visit her village before ending up here?
-I did, yes, replied Sam. We went there a couple of days after the attack. I got there just in time to see her body before they burned her and the rest of the victims to make sure they won't come back as undead.
White nodded gravely. It's sad we are forced to do this, but at least it lets our beloved to be free from this world.
-...or so they say, Sam muttered whille making eye contact with Catherine's dark eyes; he then immediately continued to prevent questions. Anyway, once I got there I asked my captain to help me find those who did this and avenge her, but he informed me the Royal Navy and the Spanish Armada have signed a temporary truce, so we were actually going to work with them soon...long story short, I ended up here and my former captain will have to avoid hard foods until he can replace a few teeth.
Sam didn't feel like continuing the conversation, and luckily he didn't have to, because a moment later White said Oh, here we are. Welcome to your new home, Sam!
The Shriek, as the letters crudely painted on its side spelled, was a sloop whose hull was made of dark wood and whose black sails were a complex pattern of patches that seemed to tell a story; hopefully not one ending too soon, thought Sam. Ropes also seemed to hold together parts that weren't supposed to need that. He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but this wasn't it.
Not that he could express that in words, obviously.
When he managed to get his eyes off of that soon-to-be-shipwreck, Sam saw the whole crew looking at him; a couple of them were smirking, Ophelia seemed to be about to burst into laughter and many others were smiling encouragingly. Captain Ramirez's face was inscrutable, a stone slab.
Afraid to say the wrong thing and have them all turn on him, Sam forced himself to smile and said It's...lovely.
Their reaction was not what Sam expected: half of them groaned, the other half erupted in a roar, including Brother Bilge, who said to the groaners I warned you, didn't I? I'm the one who talked to him earlier, you should've listened to me!
