Let's create a MÖRK DÖD character!

This week I'll continue my character creation series, continuing the series of Borg-like games characters made for a future project of mine. These will be alternating with other kinds of posts, like my solo campaigns recaps and some gameable content coming from my Duet Pirate Borg home game.

This time we're going with MÖRK DÖD by Sunzenaut, a "Brutal Death Metal Chainsaw & Sorcery TTRPG" set in the same Dying Lands as Mork Borg, but with oil, industry and a lot of brutality! The horde rules are one of my favorite things of this game, something I'll probably port into other Borg games. Anyway, without further ado, let's begin!

1. Let's start by rolling our CLASS, d6: 2, Bonesaw Surgeon, which gives us Bonesaw Surgery: Heal d6 HP to yourself or someone else. On a 6 you heal 6 HP, on a 1, the injured limb is amputated dealing d6 damage instead (if the surgery is to repair a vital organ or critical wound, the result of 1 is instant death instead);

2. Next we roll for our ABILITIES, including our class' modifiers:
Agility: 14 => +1
Presence: 4+1=5 => -2
Strength: 8-2=6 => -2
Toughness; 16 => +2
Knowledge: 9+1=10 => 0;

3. Our HP is Toughness+d4+6 = 9, our PACTS (this game's Omens, although they work in a different and unique way, where the GM at every dawn rolls a number of d6s equal to the Pacts spent the previous day) are d3: 2, while our POWERS (used to cast spells) are d2: 1;

4. Let's find out our STARTING GEAR:
- From our class we begin with two weapons: a Bonesaw (d6) and a Scalpel (d4), but I'll also roll on the Weapons Table, as instructed by the book, d8: 2, Bolt Thrower (d6) with PRE+d20= 13 bolts;
Armor, d3: 3, Heavy armor (-d6 with no drawbacks);
Money, 2d6*10= 60 silver;
Food and water, d4 days' worth: 1;
- 2d20 on the Starting Equipment table: 2, A bag of bones (if thrown, they might show you the right direction) and 12, A black Daemon horn (drinking from it replenishes d6 HP but costs one Pact).

5. Our REPULSIVE PECULIARITY, d12: 9, Maggot-ridden (which sounds quite repulsive, but at least gives us +1 damage to our unarmed attacks);

6. Finally, we need a NAME, and the book provides us with a series of tables, 3d20: 12, 1, 16, Golgotha the Necro Cannibal.

And here we are! I love how this game just oozes personality, although I prefer when games give you tables for a background or a hook to start your story (something Borg games often do very well). Still, I think I'll be able to come up with something interesting.

This is all for this week, see you next Sunday for my next post!

May your dice never betray you,
Kirhon
